living off the grid

Earth 4 Energy Review

Earth 4 Energy

Earth 4 Energy was bar far the best DIY solar and wind energy guide that I came across while research the best do-it-yourself systems on the market. However, while Earth 4 Energy gets my highest mark, you should still expect to spend a good day or two planning, shopping for, and assembling all the different parts that this particular system calls for.

One of the things that I liked most about Earth 4 Energy was that it is written for a complete newbie to off the grid concepts. No prior knowledge is required for you to easily navigate and implement the information in this guide.

Earth 4 Energy includes 73 pages of well laid out information that is completely illustrated and includes video guide lines as well as a step by step guide that really does make the whole thing a simple and fun project that can be completed over a weekend.

All of the parts that the plans call for are readily available at your local hardware store and you should be able to purchase everything needed for under $200. Given that you will likely see as much as 80% savings on your electricity bills, you should be able to recoup the cost of the equipment within a few short months.

The Earth for Energy system can be applied to just about any home and is specifically designed for people with no experience with construction or electricity. This really is one of those projects that anyone can do. Additionally the earth 4 energy system is backed by a 30 day money back guarantee.

I very much indorse Earth 4 Energy for anyone who is environmentally conscious and would like to do their part as well as those who simply want to cut down on their monthly electricity bill.

Personal Note: There is currently a promotion running that allows you to get Earth4Energy for $49 instead of the usual $89.95. If you’ve been lurking and are thinking of picking up a copy, now might be a good time before the price goes back up.

Make Power At Home

Make Power At Home is my second favorite DIY energy guide. Make Power at Home is essentially the same type of thing as Earth 4 Energy, and overall, I did like the guide. While the information is good and the illustrations and videos are effective, in the end I just couldn’t justify giving it a full 5 stars. There is no doubt that you will be able to find a lot of value in the Make Power At Home Guide, but ultimately I found the material just a little less clearly laid out, and a little less “idiot proof” than my top pick, Earth4Energy.

Home Solar Power

Home Solar Power was the third and final energy efficiency guide that I reviewed, and while it too had some good information, I have to give it a poor rating because I found the support to be less than adequate. It took me far longer to get an answer to a question I had about solar power vs. wind energy, and support is just too essential to this process to let that slide. While these alternative energy systems are not at all that difficult to understand, they are new to most of us and you need to be able to count on getting a quick response should you ever have a question regarding the process.
